MMVA Award Winners Shine in Toronto

Published: 2007-06-19
This past Sunday, Toronto was once again host to the annual MuchMusic Video Awards. As usual, they were filled with all the drama and music that the ceremony is well known for propagating.

The 6,000 fans that came to the corner of Queen and John streets this weekend to see their favourite celebrities present, perform or accept their awards were not disappointed. Both the live audience and those viewing the awards at home (either online via MuchMusic.com or on the MuchMusic television station) were treated to a no-holds-barred Canadian-style party filled with both national and international stars alike, a red carpet, and four separate stages.

International entertainers who attended the event included Ginuwine, Joss Stone and The Used and non-Canadians who either performed or presented at the 2007 MMVAs included Hilary Duff, Fergie, and Maroon 5. Canadians who made a splash Sunday night included Billy Talent and Avril Lavigne, who won the most awards (3 for Billy Talent and 2 for Avril Lavigne) and other notable appearances were made by Finger Eleven with smashing pyrotechnics, Sam Roberts, and Alexisonfire.
