Canada Day to be Celebrated in England

Published: 2007-06-18
The U.K. will be celebrating our Canadian nation at the end of June this year with a one-day festival that will take place in Trafalgar Square.

In London on the 29th of June, Canadian acts such as the Sam Roberts Band, Midway State, Land of Talk and Justin Nozuka will take the stage for a series of free performances in an event called "Canada Day London".

2007 marks the 140th anniversary of the country and other features going on that day in England include sports demonstrations (freestyle skiing and boarding), cultural activities and "traditional" Canadian food (poutine) and beer.

The affair starts at noon and goes on until 10pm right after the last band.
