Smashing Pumpkins Play Secret Show in Berlin

Published: 2007-06-07
Newly reformed Smashing Pumpkins played a secret acoustic show Tuesday night (June 5th) in Berlin, Germany for two hundred lucky fans.

The alternative rock group played a two-hour set at Berlin venue Die Zitadelle, which featured new material from their upcoming album, including first single, "Tarantula" as well as old favourites such as "Tonight, Tonight".

Singer Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin are (so far) the only two original Pumpkins members from back in the day in the current band line up who participated on the new record, Zeitgeist and are confirmed for future touring. They also made themselves available after the show for a Question-and-Answer session with fans, responding to questions about their return (the group had broken up in 2000) as well as their famous 'appearance' on The Simpsons TV show.

Zeitgeist will be the Smashing Pumpkins's sixth full length LP and will see the light of day on July 10, 2007. The Smashing Pumpkins will be headlining the Saturday date of Montreal's Osheaga Music and Arts Festival on September 8th and heading over to Toronto's VFest on September 9.
