Kingfest has nailed down their final lineup for their June 22-24 festival; the first major festival in York Region. The Friday evening concert on June 22 opens appropriately with King City's The Salads followed by Joel Plaskett, the Trews and Sloan. The Saturday evening main stage concert, which follows a full day of activities on three other stages, features, in order of appearance, O Susanna, Justin Rutledge, Lynn Miles, the Jim Cuddy Band, and Prairie Oyster. To finish off the festival on Sunday, Susan Werner, Ndidi Onukwulu with Madagascar Slim, Sarah Harmer and Bruce Cockburn.

Randi Fratkin, the event's artistic director, said that while the event will follow the traditional format of folk festivals, the range of music being presented will be far wider. "What it all has in common is that it's rooted in various music genres of the past that have made popular music what it is now." Mike Stevens, the Sarnia-based harmonica virtuoso, will appear with multi-instrumentalist Ray McLain who will also take part in a Sunday afternoon gospel show on the main stage along with the Toronto Mass Choir.
