John Lennon's Last Piano Being Sold

Published: 2007-06-01
The last piano the late John Lennon ever played before his death is being sold for $375,000. Lennon last used the instrument on the evening of December 8, 1980, right before his killer, Mark Chapman shot him.

The piano belonged to the Record Plant Recording Studios, in New York and could be considered the ex-Beatle's favourite, because the musician ensured that the instrument was available to him wherever he was writing and recording.

While the Record Plant Recording Studios, where Lennon recorded the Imagine album, is now closed, the piano itself has also been used by fellow artists such as Bob Dylan and Don Mclean.

*Editor's Note- Soul Shine recently received information that this piano being auctioned is a fraud if they are claiming to auctioning one of Lennon's grand pianos. Only if the piano is the upright piano/tack piano is this a legitimate auction our sources say.
