Pink Floyd Perform in Honour of Syd Barrett

On May 10th, a tribute show for ex-Pink Floyd member Syd Barrett took place in London and brought several members of the seminal British rock group together in his honour.

While all of the remaining members attended the event, they didn't all perform at the same time; David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright played one set together while Roger Waters played another separately.

Waters and Gilmour have been locked in a bitter feud over creative and legal issues since 1985 and hence the two showed up independently at the Barbican Centre last week.

While the remaining members, including Waters, did perform together for the Live 8 cause in 2005, Waters didn't join the Pink Floyd rendition of their 1966 hit "Arnold Layne" and instead chose one of his own solo songs, "Flickering Flame", in Barrett's memory.

Barrett was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd and passed away last summer in July of 2006 from pancreatic cancer, which was related to his diabetic condition.

It would be nice if they could grow up, and quit with the childhood games. Bitterness, between members of "The Pink Floyd" is like Dr. Ruth speaking out about abstenence.
