Franz Ferdinand T-shirt Line Now on Sale

Published: 2007-05-14
It seems that Franz Ferdinand are not only musicians anymore but fashion designers too.

A set of special collector's item t-shirts have been designed and are now on sale exclusively by the graphic design company Airside, which is led by Fred Deakin of the band Lemon Jelly. The t-shirts combine the creative skills of Franz Ferdinand bassist Bob Hardy and fellow musicians from the groups The Kills, Psapp and Bonde Do Role and each distinct design will be made available once a month for the next few months to those who join the Domino Records Fan Club, which is the record label of all the participating bands.

This isn't a phenomenon unique to the group of indie rockers, as many artists before them, such as Madonna, Gwen Stefani and many more, have already designed their clothing inspired by their own personal fashion sense and put them up for sale for the consumption of the general public.

Franz Ferdinand broke into the music scene with the single "Take Me Out", from their self-titled debut in 2004, which hit number one in several European markets and gained even more popularity when it was featured in a number of American video games.

Their latest album, You Could Have It So Much Better, came out a year and a half later in October 2005 and the band has started work on their third full-length, without a set release date in mind yet.
