Canadians ready for more red and white mayhem are in for a treat, The White Stripes are headed for an ambitious cross Canada tour in support of their new album, Icky Thump which releases June 19. The 18 date tour takes the duo to all 10 provinces, even the Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories.
Jack White explains, "Having never done a full tour of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go whole hog. We want to take this tour to the far reaches of the Canadian landscape. From the ocean to the permafrost. The best way for us to do that is ensure that we perform in every province and territory in the country, from the Yukon to Prince Edward Island. Another special moment of this tour is the show which will occur in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on July 14th, The White Stripes' Tenth Anniversary."
Icky Thump promises to be sonic and modern while revealing in American folk roots. The first single off the album, "Icky Thump" hit iTunes and radio this week and has been selling remarkably well.
