The Juliana Theory Keep It Indie

Published: 2004-04-08
The quintet from Pennsylvania known as The Juliana Theory has three Josh's but no one named Juliana. In fact, there are no girls in the band at all. What started out as a side project for messing around while playing in other bands has turned into a very serious full time gig for the guys.

The members of The Juliana Theory take their time in achieving their goal, but the little things add up to be big things. Singer-guitar player Brett Detar said that in the beginning band members drove their own cars to gigs. Then the band finally bought a van, the boys thought that they had hit the big time. These days Juliana Theory have a bus.

At one time nearly every major record label in the US were interested in The Juliana Theory, but the band has decided that the way to go was as an indie band. Choosing to go indie makes it more difficult to get radio air play and being on tour and selling your own CDs becomes even more important but the members of The Juliana Theory would do it the same way all over again.
