Published: 2007-04-11
The Hendersonville, Tennesse home of the late, great Johnny Cash has been destroyed by a fire that broke out at appoximately 2pm CST yesterday. The 13,000 square-foot house was purchased by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees in 2006, and it was under renovation at the time of the fire. Initial reports indicated that the house was completely destroyed.

The following statement was released today by Joanne Cash, sister of the late Country music legend Johnny Cash, "Of course we are all in a state of shock. I feel that an era has passed. Just today in prayer, I had decided to move on, even discarding old newspaper clippings not realizing that this terrible thing would happen. My prayers are with the Cash family and especially the Gibb family during this time."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
