There will be a concert at Wembley Stadium in London this July 1 commemorating the 10 year anniversary of the death of Princess Diana, but not everyone is jumping at the chance to perform.
Kaiser Chiefs have declined their invitation to play for the memory of Diana. They even had a few harsh words to say about the whole project to thisislondon.co.uk, "It's fine if you're doing something like Live8, which is raising awareness or events that raise awareness over green issues. That's all right. But a lot them are doing it to sell more records." The lead singer, Ricky Wilson continued, "I'm not disrespecting her, but can you imagine someone like Kasabian playing at the concert? Elton John can do it, he knew her. I didn't know her. It would be hypocritical."
Performers that have accepted the invite to play include Pharrell Williams, Joss Stone, Duran Duran, Keane, Kanye West, Rod Stewart, James Blunt, Bryan Adams and the candle in the wind himself, Sir Elton John.
