Spoon Dish Out New Record

American Indie rockers Spoon are getting set to release a brand new album tentatively titled Stroke Their Brains planned for release this Spring.

Releasing their first album Telephono in 1996 the Austin based band has slowly been gaining popularity and critical acclaim with their most recent record Gimmie Fiction scoring a number one spot on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and a 44 position on the Billboard 200.

The popularity may have to do with their tunes showing up on soundtracks to major television shows like The O.C., Scrubs and Veronica Mars or major motion pictures like Wimbledon and Stranger Than Fiction.

Though their upcoming album lacks a title it does have a release date - July 10, as well as a complete track list:

"Don't Make Me a Target"
"The Ghost of You Lingers"
"You Got Yr Cherry Bomb"
"Don't You Evah"
"Rhthm and Soul"
"Eddie's Ragga"
"The Underdog"
"My Little Japanese Cigarette Case"
"Finer Feelings"
"Black Like Me"

The band will also be heading out on a short tour in April in the United States and make a couple of stops this summer at festivals including Sasquatch!, Bonnaroo and Comercia CityFest in Detroit, MI which is currently the closest place Canadians can catch the band.
