Some of folk music's finest will descend on the unsuspecting town of Orillia this summer.

Born during folk music's heyday in 1961 the Orillia festival has hosted some of the world's biggest folk acts including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Gordon Lightfoot.

This year's stellar lineup includes "American Pie" composer Don McLean, critically acclaimed singer songwriter Hawksley Workman, blues soulful songstress Serena Ryder, alt-country group The Sadies, Stars and Broken Social Scene member Amy Millan, Jill Barber and Pat Robitaille to name a few.

The festival will also include an Artisan's Village featuring craftspeople creating everything from instruments to jewelry and pottery. Kids can join in the musical fun with Folkplay a festival within the festival for folks under the age of 16.

The festival which runs from July 6-8 at Tudhope Park in Orillia is selling weekend passes for $69.00, but prices will increase as of April 1.
