Nick Lachey Knows His Passion

Published: 2007-03-20
Apparently What's Left of Nick Lachey is a new release. Nick is beginning work on his follow-up to What's Left of Me, the singer says it will be lighter this time around.

Nick explains the differences that you'll be able to find between his new disc and his previous, "It was such a hypersensitive point in my personal life, I had a lot to say in that regard." Nick divorced his first love and reality TV star companion Jessica Simpson in 2006. "I always write from a personal place and clearly this time around, this point in my life, that's a very different perspective that I had last time. So I do anticipate the album will be slightly different and have a few more colors that the last one didn't."

This is Lachey's third solo effort and this time around he's asking for help. He will be working with the Underdogs, who were the production duo behind Dreamgirls and have also scored hits for Omarion and Fantasia. Harvey Mason Jr., one half of the Underdogs speaks about his work with Nick, "We're doing big radio records with big, huge choruses. His voice is really strong and we hope to try and give him a chorus that can support that, a message-type song with good lyrics, some emotion behind it, cause he can really pull off those types of records."

Nick Lachey still has television and movie deals in his mind but as for now, "Being on tour this past year and seeing the success of this record kind of reminded me and reiterated to me how much I enjoy the music business. That will always be, first and foremost, my passion."
