Take That Musical?

A musical based on the music of British boy band Take That is said to be in the works.

The band blew up in the pop-heavy nineties with tunes like "Pray", "Babe" and "Back For Good". In 1995 member Robbie Williams left the band and the remaining four members Mark Owen, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Gary Barlow split soon after.

According to NME, a musical in the vein of Mamma Mia is being created using Take That's tunes, "The show, called 'Never Forget', will tell the fictional tale of a Take That tribute band and include the Number One singles 'Relight My Fire', 'Back For Good' and 'Pray'." The show was described as, "feel good comedy about love, friendship, ambition and betrayal"

However, according to Take That's official website http://www.takethattv.com the creation of the musical is news to them, "the band would like to state categorically that this production is being undertaken with neither their involvement nor their endorsement. They would wish their fans and the general public to know that this production is absolutely and 100% nothing to do with Take That."

No word on whether the production will continue without the band's blessing.
