Bob Dylan Biopic Soundtrack is Just as Important as the Film

Published: 2007-03-05
When a movie is based upon the life of a folk superstar, the soundtrack tends to be just as important as the film itself. Director Todd Haynes assembled a largely famous group of actors to participate in the Bob Dylan biopic I\m Not There and he is doing the same when it comes to the complementing music.

If the list of actors taking on the role of Bob Dylan isn't eclectic enough, the soundtrack will be. Playing Bob Dylan in the movie are such heavy hitters as, Richard Gere, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger and Cate Blanchett. The soundtrack will carry the voices of Stephen Malkmus of Pavement, the Hold Steady, Calexico and Willie Nelson, all giving their best renditions of Dylan classics. Rumored to be making vocal appearances are Michael Stipe of REM and PJ Harvey.

The man of the movie, Dylan, is currently on tour throughout Europe and the UK.

Yeah- I doubt either are particularly important from what I've heard/seen so far.
