Ben Gibbard Flies Solo

Published: 2007-02-28
When you are in a band and are the lead singer, there is always the opportunity to become a solo act. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie has taken up the opportunity.

The frontman has enlisted Jonathan Rice and David Bazan of Pedro the Lion to open for him on his tour. Gibbard has not released a solo album as of yet but will perform solo material on the road. The tour kicks off in Minneapolis on May 5. He will venture across the States to play a couple more gigs before wrapping up on May 20 in Seattle.

Gibbard isn't the only Death Cab member trying the solo path. Guitarist Chris Walla is working on a complete solo album that will be released this autumn.
