Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players Begin Tour

Published: 2004-04-05
In what is described as an indie vaudeville pop rock art concept band, the Trachtenburg family mixes music with a slide show to present a show like no other. The Trachtenburg family consists of father Jason, mother Tina and daughter Rachel.

The family scours vintage stores, garage sales, estate sales and where ever else they can locate old slides. The music is then chosen to reflect what is on the slides, bringing to life pieces of long forgotten lives and memories of unknown people. Jason sings and plays most of the instruments and Rachel plays the drums while Tina runs the old carousel slide projector.

The Trachtenburg family has begun a tour that they have dubbed the 1983 Suburbean tour in honour of their hand painted pink and blue 1983 GMC Suburban that just keeps going.

The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players will pull into Toronto on May 1.
