Bonnaroo Festival Announces Initial Acts

As the summer music festival season begins to shape up Manchester, Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has announced their initial list of artists.

Taking place from June 14-17 in Manchester Tennessee the festival, known initially for hosting the hottest jam bands, has also expanded to include a variety of other bands. Acts heading to this year's fest include the newly reunited 80's rockers The Police, Jack White's original band The White Stripes, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, jam band Wilco, UK indie rockers Franz Ferdinand and southern rockers Gov't Mule.

Also hitting the bill are country singer Dierks Bentley, Aussie singer songwriter and didgeridoo (amongst other instruments) player Xavier Rudd and MySpace giants Mute Math. Canadians making their way south for the fest include singer songwriter and Broken Social Scener Feist, folk-pop singer Martha Wainwright and rockers the Sam Roberts Band.

Tickets for the fest go on sale on February 23 at noon EST for $184.50(US), $199.50(US) or $214.50(US) for a four day pass. VIP passes are also being sold for $1121.75(US) a pair.
