The Police Reunite, Hit the Road

Published: 2007-02-13
British rockers the Police have reunited after more than twenty years and now they're getting ready to hit the road.

The band released five studio albums from 1978 to 1983 spawning such hits as "Roxanne", "Don't Stand So Close to Me", "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" and "Every Breath You Take". In the mid eighties the band split and pursued solo careers.

In 2003 the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and performed together for the one time show. On Sunday night, the reunited group opened the 49th Annual Grammy Awards and announced yesterday that they would be starting a reunion tour later this year.

The trek will begin in Vancouver in May where the band is currently rehearsing. Though the band has announced details for shows in 13 cities they have also announced 11 more cities where shows will be held though no other details about those shows have been released yet.

Here is where they're headed in Canada:

May 28, Vancouver, BC - GM Place
July 22, Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre
July 25, Montreal, QC - Bell Centre
Edmonton, AB - date and venue TBA
