Published: 2007-02-09
A myriad of Canadian bands are heading to Texas for the 21st Annual South By Southwest (SXSW) Festival.

The festival taking place this year from March 14-18 has just announced their preliminary list of acts which has included UK group Bloc Party, New Orleans rockers MuteMath, European singer songwriter Teitur, UK pop singer Lily Allen, Something Corporate frontman Andrew McMahon's solo project Jack's Mannequin, pop rockers Bowling for Soup, alt-rockers The Bravery and the newest American Idol Taylor Hicks.

But a whole lot of Canadians will also be crossing the border for the festival including quintessential Canadian rockers The Tragically Hip, pop rockers Sloan, Montreal indie alt-rockers Mobile, electronic music group MSTRKRFT, Edmonton rapper Cadence Weapon, indie rockers The Dears, Metric frontwoman Emily Haines and her band The Soft Skeleton, singer-songwriter Jill Barber and indie rockers Wintersleep just to name a few.

As if all the music wasn't enough the festival also features films and interactive media. To check out more about it head over to http://2007.sxsw.com
