Coldplay Album to be Produced by Brian Eno

Published: 2007-01-30
Musician and producer Brian Eno is adding his stamp to the new Coldplay album.

The British band is currently in the studio recording their follow up to X&Y and Eno spoke on a BBC Radio 4 interview saying that he would be producing the album. According to Billboard, Eno said the upcoming record "will be very original and very different from what they've done before."

Though Eno has made his own albums, he has also put his mark on several albums for the Talking Heads, U2 and most recently Paul Simon's new album Surprise.

Coldplay's last album, 2005's X&Y, shot to number one in both the UK and the US and took home Best British Album at the Brit Awards, Album of the Year at the Q Awards, and even a Juno Award for International Album of the Year.

Coldplay is getting set to debut some of their new material on the road in Latin America in February. No word on when the as yet untitled album will be released.
