Published: 2007-01-26
Though it's called the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival there will be much more than just jazz coming out of the city this spring.

Taking place over the last weekend of April (April 27-29) and the first weekend of May (May 4-6) at New Orleans' Fair Grounds Race Course the festival will host over 600 acts on 10 stages.

The eclectic mix includes rocker turned disco singer turned American standard's crooner Rod Stewart, singer songwriter Van Morrison, jazzy songstress Norah Jones and country star Brad Paisley for the first weekend. For the second weekend headliners include crooner Harry Connick Jr., Jazz rockers Steely Dan, blues rock band ZZ Top and R&B singer John Legend.

Other acts set to hit the stages include veteran rock 'n' roller Jerry Lee Lewis, jazz and soul songstress Jill Scott, rapper Ludacris, R&B boy turned man band New Edition, alternative rockers the Counting Crows, rock 'n' roll hall of famers the Allman Brothers Band, country singer Bonnie Raitt, soul R&B singer songwriter Joss Stone and many many more.

Single day tickets to the fest went on sale yesterday (Jan 25) for $35 (US).
