The Coachella Music and Arts Festival has released the first few acts for the 2007 festival.

The eighth annual installment of the California festival is the first to extend to three days lasting from April 27-29. Taking place in Indio, California in the middle of the Mojave Desert hasn't stopped a myriad of major acts from signing up for the fest.

Headlining the show on April 27 is Icelandic singer-songwriter Bjork, taking over on April 28 will be California rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers and finishing off the fest on the 29th are rockers Rage Against the Machine who will be reuniting at Coachella.

A strong Canadian contingent will be present at the California show including singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, electronic music group MSTRKRFT and indie darlings the New Pornographers and the Arcade Fire.

Other artists heading for the desert this April include Arctic Monkeys, We Are Scientists, Decemberists, Interpol, Jesus and Mary Chain, Jacks' Mannequin, Willie Nelson, Kaiser Chiefs, The Roots, Damien Rice, Lily Allen, Amos Lee, Lupe Fiasco and many more.

Tickets will go on sale January 27 and are $249US for all three days or $85US for one day.
