At a solo show in January lead singer, Jeff Tweedy announced the release date for Wilco's next album. May 15 will bring their newest release, Sky Blue Sky to stores.

The band has already played a couple of their new tracks live such as "Is That the Thanks I Get", "Lullaby for Rafters and Dream", "On and On and On", "Walken" and their first single "We Can Make It Better". The new disc is the follow up to 2004's A Ghost is Born. According to Nielsen SoundScan their 2004 release sold 346,000 copies.

Excited about the new album, bassist John Stirrat spoke to Billboard.com, "I think people may have an idea in their head about what it will sound like, but it's going to be different than that. Jeff has a lot of creative fire. And also, the way we recorded was so cool because a lot of the arrangements just grew right there with everybody sitting around. I'm over the moon about it. I think it will be a really beautiful record. It's a great time to be in Wilco."
