Canadian Music Week Hits Toronto

Published: 2007-01-17
Just before the snow's done thawing on Toronto a blizzard of music acts will hit the city.

To kick off the summer music festival season, over 600 bands will hit Toronto and play over 40 music venues in four days from March 7-10. A slew of acts from all over the world will hit Toronto including Edmonton rapper Cadence Weapon, Canadian Idol Eva Avila, hip hop quartet Gym Class Heroes, Toronto R&B group Jacksoul, New Orleans rockers Mute Math, Toronto musical experiment Neverending White Lights, Canadian Idol runner up Rex Goudie, and Canadian chart toppers the Philosopher Kings.

As if the slew of great musical acts wasn't enough to draw you into the festival a number of awards ceremonies will take place over the week as well including the Canadian Radio Music Awards and the Indie Awards.

The Executive Conference for music and media business professionals as well as the Tune Up Conference for artists will also take place over Canadian music week with keynote speakers including Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer David Foster and Music World Entertainment President and Destiny's Child manager (and BeyoncÈ's proud papa) Matthew Knowles.
