Wyclef Jean Appointed Roving Ambassador of Haiti

Musicians continue to take interest in important affairs such as Bono and the fight against AIDS in Africa, Green Day joining that fight, also there is Pink fighting the injustices against animals and now there is hip-hop star Wyclef Jean fighting the violent public image of Haiti.

Wyclef was born in Haiti and this year he returned to his hometown to shed some light on local battles. On January 3rd the President, Rene Preval appointed Wyclef as roving ambassador of Haiti. His title was given in hopes that he could spread the word of their plight and need for aid.

When Wyclef moved from his home country to Brooklyn, NY at the age of nine, his love for his home country was never lost. Through the years he has supported them through his activism, providing assistance and proudly wearing their flag while performing. Government officials are proud to have the help of the Grammy award winning artist, stating that Wyclef is their "Best asset to promote the country's image around the world and to help attract foreign investors."

The first change that the new roving ambassador will help to create is the opportunity of employment through textile manufacturing jobs, if they can lobby to get the bill passed.
