P.O.D. Get a Familiar Face

Published: 2007-01-04
In December members of nu metal band P.O.D. announced to their fans that their guitarist Jason Truby would be leaving the band and would be replaced by original guitarist Marcos Curiel.

In a letter on the band's official website Truby wrote, "I am no longer a member of P.O.D. I want to thank all of you for your support and love over the past four years. It has been an honor getting the opportunity to spend time with you and sharing music with you. My decision to depart as a member is personal and came before Marcos was considered. I believe in P.O.D. and will be apart of P.O.D forever. They are life long friends."

The band's manager Tim Cook explained that Curiel was talking to the band again as friends before Truby had officially left the band. After the four original P.O.D. members got back together Cook says, "it was such a divine moment and so obvious that the four of these guys need to be doing music together. After lunch they couldn't wait any longer to jam together so they drove over to their rehearsal studio. Marcos wanted to share some ideas that he had. He told us that he's been up 'til 3 or 4 AM every night playing music and unable to put his guitar down."

The band just released a best of collection Greatest Hits (The Atlantic Years) in November just after parting with their record label.
