Sparklehorse Spend 'Light Years' on the Road

Published: 2007-01-04
Alt-country band Sparklehorse is hitting the road to promote their first release in five years.

Led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Linkous the band began making music in the mid-nineties but were temporarily sidetracked by Linkous' battles with substance abuse. After getting back on track the band slowly built a fan base amongst both the general public and other musicians making Linkous a sought after indie producer.

Their most recent album Dreamt For Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain includes collaborations from chart toppers like Gnarls Barkley's DJ Danger Mouse and the Flaming Lips' Steven Drozd.

The band is heading on the road behind the new release starting at the beginning of February in Austin, TX. Opening for the band in North America is Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter - here's where they're headed:

February 15, Vancouver, BC - Richard's on Richards
February 23, Toronto, ON - The Mod Club
February 24, Montreal, QC - Club Soda
