Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer Collaborate On New CD/DVD

Published: 2004-03-31
Grammy winning banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck is once again demonstrating his talent for being able to play a multitude of musical styles. Fleck and bass player Edgar Meyer will be touring together in May promoting the new CD/DVD due out April 27 titled "Music for Two". The CD contains original pieces by Fleck and Meyer – both separately and together – as well as arrangements of classical pieces. Fleck is known for his innovative styles of music. The DVD, "Obstinato: Making Music for Two", includes a 40 minute film, live performance and backstage footage, which spotlights Fleck and Meyer rehearsing and composing.

Bela Fleck will be touring with his band the Flecktones before and after the shows with Meyer; again showing his virtuosity. While Bela Fleck and the Flecktones play what is considered progressive bluegrass, their live performances rival that of the best jazz improvisationists.
