Published: 2006-12-27
At age seventy three legendary soul singer James Brown passed away. James Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia, later dying on Monday December 25 due to congestive heart failure.

Brown will forever be remember for his number one hits, "I Got You", "Cold Sweat", "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" and "Super Bad". He will forever be immortalized through his dance moves which pop stars continue to emulate to this day.

Brown had many shticks that helped him gain a spot in fan's hearts worldwide. One of his stints, that will be missed, is his famous red cape routine. At the end of each performance Brown would fall to the floor due to exerting too much energy and an assistant would run on stage and cover him in a red cape. This red cape would re-energize him and fuel him to play more funk for his adoring fans.

Brown was a fierce competitor for any performer interested in toping the charts. Through his career he had 114 songs entered into the Billboard R & B singles chart. 94 of those songs made the hot 100 singles chart. All of his noteworthy songs were taken from a collection of 800.

He will be missed by many.
