Bright Eyes Plan New Release

Published: 2006-12-20
After the release of two albums last year, Motion Sickness (live) and Noise Floor (rarities from 1998 to 2005) Bright Eyes announces they will have a new studio album released in 2007.

Bright Eyes have spread themselves thin over the past five years, releasing in total 4 albums and speaking out against the war and participating in playing at antiwar concerts with the likes of R.E.M. The new album should come as a type of a breather with a more relaxed feel. Oberst describes the new album as "Sort of folky and trippy and hopefully a little more cosmic."

The slated release date for the new album, entitled Cassadaga is April 9. For the first time work on this album was done elsewhere than lead singer's home state of Nebraska. This album was made in New York, Los Angeles, Lincoln and Portland.
