Marty Casey and Lovehammers Release New Christmas Song and Video

Published: 2006-12-20
Marty Casey, of Rock Star INXS, has released a rockin new Christmas tune with his band, Lovehammers. The song, appropriately titled "Merry Christmas (All Year Long)" was penned by Casey "in about an hour with my friend, producer, Marti Frederickson. One day, he said to me 'you should write a Christmas song, no one does that anymore.' And the song just came out," says Casey.

The accompanying video is something Marty is very proud of as he explained to Soul Shine: "The video was directed by this seventeen year old kid, Kyle Ervin and he's a genius. I get excited by being able to give this kid an opportunity to bust out his career. He entered into a YouTube video contest for 'Rain on My Brain' and he did a good job but I could see from what he was doing that he was really talented. I took a chance and people thought I was crazy to spend the money on this kid. I had to convince my band but they knew how determined I was work with this guy so they went along. We went down to Spokane, Washington to shoot and it turned out great."

The video also features Canadian, Suzie McNeil, who recalls "how cold it was but it was a lot of fun and the song rocks!"
