Kaiser Chiefs Test out New Material on the Road

Published: 2006-12-18
UK indie rockers the Kaiser Chiefs are taking their new songs for a spin before releasing their sophomore record.

The band released their debut album Employment to high praise last year scoring three Brit Awards, two NME Awards and a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize. Though they were rumored to be a favourite to take the 2005 Mercury Prize they lost out to Antony and the Johnsons but still managed a boost in sales due to the critical praise.

Their touring for 2006 has decreased as the band has begun work on a sophomore album set to be released next year.

But before releasing their new stuff they'll be playing it live, in a few select cities. They've already wrapped up a short European tour at the end of this year and will be hitting the road in April of next year here in North America, including one Canadian stop.

Here's where they're headed:

April 13, New York, NY - Roseland ballroom
April 18, Toronto, ON - Kool Haus
April 20, Chicago, IL - Vic Theatre
April 27, San Francisco, CA - Warfield Theatre
