The Green Children, Nobel Laureate Launch Music for Health

Norwegian/British duo, The Green Children, have teamed up with 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus to promote microcredit and healthcare through music.

The campaign, which began yesterday, aims to raise money for eye hospitals in Bangladesh. After learning from Yunus, about the struggles of cataracts and premature blindness in the country, The Green Children decided to join the Novel Laureate and his initiative. Yunus was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize when he founded the Grameen Bank to lend money to the impoverished in Bangladesh.

Norwegian vocalist Milla Sunde and British pianist Tom Bevan flew to Bangladesh to shoot the video for the campaign's headlining song "Hear Me Now." All proceeds from the Hear Me Now' EP and DVD will go towards building eye hospitals in Bangladesh. If 30, 000 copies are sold, one hospital will be able to be built.

According to a press release,"Cataracts can be cured with a simple operation which costs as little as $25. This operation changes the direction of someone's life, allowing them to continue using microcredit, support their families and keep their children in education."
