Published: 2006-12-12
Pennsylvania soul legend Patti LaBelle has released her first gospel album, The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle in a career that spans over five decades. Her high octave vocals reach to new heights with a bevvy of famed guest artists joining her on the album. CeCe Winans does a duet on "Walking Away", "God Ain't Through" with Soul Seekers, Yolanda Adams does back up on "Where Love Begins" and Kanye West stops by to add some flavour on "Anything".

The album was released November 21, 2006 and LaBelle is donating all the proceeds to cancer research in memory of her late musical director Budd Ellision who recently died of prostate cancer. Patti LaBelle said on Naomi's New Morning show (that's Naomi Judd) recently, "tomorrow's not promised, you know that," so LaBelle is encouraging everyone to make today count.

LaBelle will also be going on a mini-tour for the album, for more information please visit
