Prince Plays Super Bowl

Joining an illustrious list that includes former Beatle Paul McCartney, scandalous pop star Janet Jackson, and rockers U2 and the Rolling Stones, Prince is set to headline the halftime show at the 2007 Super Bowl.

The funky singer-songwriter has had a banner year leading up to the announcement with his most recent record 3121 giving him his first number one debut on the Billboard charts. He has also been inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame and was recently nominated for five Grammy Awards.

Though he doesn't really need more exposure, the Super Bowl gig will expose Prince to the largest television audience of the year in the United States on February 4, 2007 at Miami's Dolphin Stadium. Last year according to E!Online, the Super Bowl raked in 141 million viewers all over the world.
