American Music Awards Honours Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood

The Black Eyed Peas were the big winners on Tuesday at the American Music Awards which were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The hip hop group took home three statues in their three nomination categories, favorite band in both soul/R&B and rap/hip hop categories and favorite rap/hip hop album for 2005's Monkey Business, the band gave thanks via satellite from Costa Rica where they were performing.

Other winners included Mary J. Blige, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and Carrie Underwood. Nominees were compiled from data supplied by Radio & Records, a sister publication of The Hollywood Reporter, and are voted on by a national sampling of 20,000.
