Icemat Siberia Stays In:Ear

With a sleak little package that wastes nothing in terms of space it's an environmentalists dream and those who appreciate design will marvel at the ice blue euro packaging direct from our friends in Denmark. For the true Mp3 or gaming addict, picking one up for someone on your Christmas list this year is easy for the quality and the price you get, $29.95US for just the headphones and $49.95US for headphones, microphone, and extras. Instructions and contents are included on the back with a handy chart, but for those a little too eager, they might rip them up if you don't realize the packaging has this information. It comes with lots of little extra things like an extension cord, pocket sized grey carry bag for your MP3 or phone (should it fit it), and 2 sets of extra silicone ear sleeves, but I do wonder what happens if you lose or run out of the silicone ear sleeves. The product itself comes in black or white.

You may want to use the clip on microphone for cell phone use and your earphones for Mp3 players, Skype, and many use them for handheld gaming too. The cords were soft and easy to untie if they got jumbled up, which is often the case for those who get into gaming. The earphones have gill-like silicone on the ends that are really the best feature I've seen in earphones as they keep the little buds from slipping out while walking, which has been a pet peeve of mine with ones normally included with Mp3 players. The size of the headphones didn't hinder the sound quality either, and everything was in surround sound with much if not all of the natural noise blocked.

The microphone was good for using with Skype, although Icemat does have larger headphones tailored for Skype calls that may fit more comfortably for longer phone calls. I did find them good for interviews as the mic could clip on to the lapel of the interviewee with ease and it saved me from having to hold the recorder mic closer to the person. If you get it in bright white like we did though I wouldn't advise them to be used for broadcast journalism. Overall, the product is well constructed, comes with a bunch of extras, and has satisfying sound quality for a variety of uses.
