Simple Plan Readying Next Release

Quebecois pop-punk band Simple Plan is in the midst of putting together their third album.

After releasing a bunch of their past recordings with the band Reset earlier this month, the band is starting to look towards the future.

According to MTV, drummer Chuck Comeau says the band has 70-80 pieces of songs that they've written in Montreal over the last few months, and now the band is working on putting them all together.

Though they're not totally sure who they'll work with on the record, the band has quite the wish list. For producers, Comeau has named possibilities like Bob Rock, who helped the band out on 2004's Still Not Getting AnyÖ but he's also told MTV, "We'd Love to get in the studio with someone like Will.I.Am or Wyclef Jean." The working wish list doesn't end there with Comeau saying, "We also really want to work with a female singer, someone with a really strong voice like Kelly Clarkson or Gwen Stefani."

So far the boys have just under a dozen completed songs including "Take My Hand," "Never Should've Let You Go" and "Forever."

The band hopes to have the album completed for spring 2007.
