Fall Out Boy Getting 'High' With new Album

Published: 2006-11-17
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz got the inspiration for the band's last album, From Under the Cork Tree from a children's book. For the title of their next release, the band turned to Vincent van Gogh.

After teasing fans with the claim of a mind blowing title, Wentz has revealed to MTV that their new album will take the name of Infinity on High.

"It's taken from a quote by Vincent van Gogh," said the bassist. "And as for what that means in relation to the record, we'll just let it unfold when people hear it."

The phrase comes from a letter written by the post-impressionist painter to his brother.

Fans will have to wait until February 6 to unravel the mystery. Until then, perhaps they can get some insight from the first single off of the album, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," which the pop punk group will premiere at the American Music Awards on November 21.
