Silverchair Readies New Album

Published: 2006-11-08
Australia's Silverchair has named their new album and according to their official site, it's slated for a fall release.

Young Modern will be the follow-up to 2002's Diorama; it has not been said whether or not the material will be a departure from their earlier work. All the songs for the new album have been recorded but the band is waiting for the availability of their favourite mixer before adding the finishing touches.

A book about the rock trio is also in the works. Written by Rolling Stone Editor Jeff Apter, "A New Tomorrow" is an updated re-write of "Tomorrow Never Knows," published three years ago. The new book re-traces the history of Silverchair with an extra 80 pages, new photos and interviews.

Silverchair recently appeared at the Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Awards where they paid tribute to fellow Australian rockers Midnight Oil, who were inducted into ARIA Hall of Fame.
