GMA Canada recently hosted the Covenant Awards on October 27 in Calgary with big winners including Starfield and Ali Matthews.
Starfield were honoured with four awards, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year and Group of the Year while Ali Matthews earned Covenant Awards for Folk/Roots Song of the Year, Country/Bluegrass Song of the Year, Seasonal Song of the Year and Folk/Roots Album Of The Year. Other multiple winners included both Brian Doerksen and Downhere with three awards each.
Other major winners included New Brunswick's own The Silent who were voted New Artist of the Year, Brian Doerksen who won Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, Juno award winner Amanda Falk who won Female Vocalist of the Year and Downhere for Recorded Song of the Year for A Better Way.
