One of Canada's favourite family singing groups is reuniting to tour the nation and release a new album.
After disbanding in 1999, The Rankin Family have reunited and are planning to take their act to 22 Canadian cities.
The Cape Breton family began their professional career in 1989, charming fans with their mix of Celtic, folk and pop sound. Fare Thee Well Love sold over 500, 000 copies in Canada.
In 1999, the siblings decided to go their own way but recently, Raylene, Jimmy, Cookie and Heather collaborated again in Nashville. Now they are planning to hit the road and showcase their new material on a new album to be released early next year.
Sadly, the Rankin reunion will miss the musicianship of John Morris, who died in a car accident in 2000. Continuing in the family tradition, his daughter Molly will join the Rankin tour.
