iTunes Latino Comes to the US

Published: 2006-11-02
The American version of Apple's iTunes music store is getting a little Latin flavour injected into it with the introduction of new Latin content in the digital music store.

A new Latin section within the existing store called iTunes Latino will feature music, music videos, television shows, audiobooks and podcasts in Spanish and English. Apple has teamed with American Latino station Telemundo to make popular Latin television shows available at the iTunes store for $1.99 (US).

The Latin American audience for music has grown rapidly as shown with the Latin Grammys that launched in 2000 when the Latin pop craze was at its peak in the United States with artists like diva Jennifer Lopez and heartthrob Ricky Martin leading the way.
