Joss Stone Delivers Soul Classics

Published: 2004-03-25
The 16 year old teen sensation from Devon, England is set to give pop stars like Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, and Hilary Duff a run for their money. Joss Stone's debut EP is a cover album of old soul songs from the 60s and 70s; but it is more than a karaoke album, Stone makes each song her own. The EP is a prelude to Stone's debut full length CD of original material due out around September.

The young star performed with Sir Elton John at the star's own request for his Oscar Party in West Hollywood. She is also scheduled to open for multi-Grammy winning star Sting when the ex-Police-frontman plays the Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

While no single from the EP has been released – by design - a video of "Fell in Love with a Boy" – which was taken from The Stripes "Fell in Love with a Girl" – is receiving a lot of air time on the music video channels. The video is also sparking quite an interesting Joss Stone's EP. Exact record sales aren't available, but the record company has shipped 570,000 units to retailers.
