Matt Mays Bring 'Angels' on new Release

Published: 2006-10-23
East coast country rocker Matt Mays is readying his new solo release When Angels Make Contact.

Last year Mays and his band El Torpedo cleaned up at the East Coast Music Awards with their self-titled 2005 release, taking home four awards including group of the year and single of the year for their radio friendly single "Cocaine Cowgirl."

This year Mays was busy at work on both a film and soundtrack for When the Angels Make Contact. Though the film had to be abandoned due to "financial constraints" according to his official MySpace, the album When the Angels Make Contact still sounds like it's telling the film's story. It tells the tale of J.J. Carver, "a heartbroken man, alone in a world of strife and darkness, the film sees the protagonist searching desperately for his missing love. With a growing evil that haunts his every step, he blindly chases something that can only be found within himself."

You can get a sneak peek of the album, which is due out on November 7, on Mays'official website which streams the album in full. You can also check out a movie trailer as well as the video for the first single also titled "When the Angels Make Contact" on the site.

Here's the track listing for the upcoming release:
