Rod Stewart Rocks with the 'Same Great Rock Classics of Our Time'

Published: 2006-10-10
Legendary rocker Rod Stewart is back with a new album of classics.

Instead of covering the classics of the 1930s and 40s as he did with the American Songbook series, Stewart is returning to his roots. Still the Same...Great Rock Classics of Our Time is a collection of cover songs of some of the great rock standards, like the album's first single, Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen The Rain." The diverse and raspy voiced Stewart also adds his rendition of hits from Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bonnie Tyler, Cat Stevens and many more from the late 1960s and early '70s.

The new album will be the follow-up to 2005's Thanks for the Memory: The Great American Songbook, the fourth and final installment of the Songbook series that sold over 15 million copies around the world.

Stewart, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee whose career has spanned over 40 years, became a rock legend with hits like "Maggie May," "Tonight's the Night" and the infamous "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy."

The new album comes out today (Oct. 10). Here is the track listing:

Have You Ever Seen The Rain
Fooled Around And Fell In Love
I'll Stand By You
Still The Same
It's A Heartache
Day After Day
Missing You
Father & Son
The Best Of My Love
If Not For You
