U2 To Release 'Best of' in November

Published: 2006-10-04
One of the world's greatest rock groups has revealed a "best of" album is on its way.

U2's official site states that a compilation of their greatest hits is set for release on Nov. 20 but they haven't revealed a title or what those "best" songs might be. The site does divulge that 16 of the band's best known songs will appear on the album along with two new tracks. One of those new tracks will be the Skids cover "The Saints Are Coming," performed with Green Day.

The two groups recorded the cover at London's infamous Abbey Road studios to raise money for Music Rising, a foundation that helps musicians affected by the Gulf region hurricanes by replacing lost instruments.

On Sept. 25, U2 and Green Day had a chance to perform the song together to kick off the re-opening of the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. "The Saints Are Coming" will be available for download on Oct. 30 and the single will be available in stores Nov. 6.
