Greg Sczebel Wins 3rd Okanagan Music Award

Published: 2006-10-03
Singer-songwriter Greg Sczebel can add another award to his budding collection.

The young artist received the Gospel Artist-Group of the Year award at the Okanagan Music Awards for the third year in a row. Held at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre in Vernon, B.C., the award show celebrates artists who hail from the Okanagan region.

In 2004, Sczebel won two CGMA awards for Male Vocalist of the Year and Rap/Hip-Hop/Dance Song of the Year. Just last year his debut album Here to Stay won him a Juno for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year. His songwriting talents were also recognized by being named a grand prize winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for the song "Here to Stay."

With his mix of jazz, soul and urban, Sczebel just keeps getting noticed on the award scene. He is currently nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year at this year's Covenant Awards, to be held on Oct. 27 at Street Church in Calgary, Alberta.

You can catch the multiple award winning musician along with Carolyn Arends on the Something2Give Tour this fall.
